A Squirrel is Born

Writer: dana storinodana storino

This is my first blog ever.

I´ve been very reluctant to start one, because in a way I feel like it´s a tad narcissistic. It´s sort of like writing a diary you think is so good, people would rather read yours than write their own.

*Stops and thinks

What should I write about? How do I make this any different than your average blogger content?

*Overthinks and panics

Well, I have ADHD and I can share my experiences about my life with neurotypicals, to help them understand how it is to live with a mind that never stops. Maybe I can make others with ADHD feel comfortable with themselves and their diagnosis? Maybe I can help some parents by giving some tips and tricks that worked for me? And maybe…share the funny that happens in my life because of this disorder I have been blessed and cursed with?

All I know is that I´m going to try my best to make these short and sweet. The worst thing for someone with ADHD to see is something long and complicated they need to read. If I´m going to do this, I´m going to make it ADHD friendly.

Side Note:

For those of you who aren´t familiar with the squirrel reference, it´s what us ADHD individuals like to call ourselves. Some may think it´s insensitive, but I feel like you have to be able to laugh at yourself or you will always be miserable.

Also, I love side notes. They are like written afterthoughts. I always have a ton of afterthoughts.

With that–I´m off like a dirty shirt (Pretty in Pink)
